The national carrier, Maldivian, has announced special promotional fares for round-trip flights to the Indian cities of Cochin and Trivandrum.

According to the airline, the flights under this promotion will be operated using its Airbus A320 aircraft. The initiative aims to enhance passenger experience, offer more competitive ticket pricing, and strengthen the airline’s position as a preferred choice for travel between the Maldives and South India.

Under the promotional offer, round-trip fares will start from USD 176 for Cochin and USD 232 for Trivandrum. Economy Class passengers will receive a complimentary 20kg baggage allowance, along with free hot meals and beverages. Premium Economy passengers will be entitled to a 30kg baggage allowance, express check-in service, and the flexibility to change travel dates at no additional cost.

Maldivian stated that the initiative is expected to benefit not only the airline but also the wider Maldivian economy, particularly the tourism sector. The carrier anticipates that the special fares will attract more tourists from South India while providing greater convenience for those travelling for business, education, or medical purposes.

Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, which includes a wide-body Airbus A330, a narrow-body Airbus A320, five ATRs, eight Dash-8s, and 11 Dash-6 Twin Otters.
