Malé City Council Warns Against Unauthorised Wall Demolitions

Malé City Council has called for an end to the unauthorised demolition of walls in the city, emphasising the need for compliance with established regulations.
In a statement on social media, the council raised concerns over instances where walls along certain roads had been dismantled without prior approval. It urged that any such activity be conducted within regulatory guidelines and only with proper authorisation.

The council warned that failure to adhere to these requirements would result in penalties.
This announcement follows an incident in which a sinkhole developed within a residential property adjacent to a building construction site.
