The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has reported a significant downpour in Male’, with 57 millimeters of rainfall during an extended period of continuous heavy rain on last Friday.

The Met Office data reveals that the highest amount of rain occurred between 8:00 am and 10:00 am, contributing to the total of 57 millimeters in Male’ City and 67 millimeters in Hulhule’.

As a consequence of the rainfall, roads in Male’ experienced flooding, with water levels rising above ankle height.

Further information from the Met Office indicates that Sh. Funadhoo received 22.1 mm of rainfall, while GDh. Kaadedhdhoo received 17.9 mm.
