Man Arrested After Police Seize 17kg of Drugs in Hulhumalé Apartment
A man was arrested in Hulhumalé Phase II
A man has been arrested after police discovered a significant quantity of drugs during a search of an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase II.
According to the Maldives Police Service, officers responded to a report of an assault at around 01:31 hours on Sunday. Upon arrival at the apartment, located in an MPL tower, they found evidence of a scuffle and property damage, but no other individuals at the scene.
A subsequent search of the premises led to the recovery of 17.3 kilogrammes of suspected narcotics. The man was taken into custody and later presented before the Criminal Court, which ordered that he remain in remand until the conclusion of his trial.
The case is currently being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Department in coordination with the Hulhumalé Police Station.
