Man Arrested Following Hit-and-Run in Hulhumalé

Police have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Hulhumalé Phase 2 that left a pedestrian injured.

The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday near the MACL Tower on Hithigas Magu, when a car struck a 63-year-old man crossing the road at a zebra crossing.

The victim suffered a broken leg and is receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The driver fled the scene without providing assistance.

Authorities later arrested Khalid Abdulla Ali, 57, a businessman from Dhandimagu, Fuvahmulah City, under a court order in connection with the incident.
