Man Arrested in Malé for Alleged Fake Payment Slips

Police have arrested a man in Malé on suspicion of repeatedly defrauding a food delivery service by sending fake payment slips after receiving orders.
Zaidan Mohamed Hashim, 28, of G. Sinamale 13-05 1, Malé, is accused of ordering food from “Foodie’s Delivery” on multiple occasions and providing invalid payment confirmations to falsely claim he had settled the bills.

According to the authorities, Zaidan has a prior criminal record involving fraud and forgery.
He was brought before court and subsequently placed in judicial custody for 15 days as the investigation continues.
The Maldives Police Service confirmed it is actively probing the case.
