Launched by the Ministry of Education with UNICEF and WHO’s support, the helpline aims to provide mental health first aid to students and teachers, offer early intervention, and enhance school counselling services.

Minister Shafeeu emphasised the importance of teachers’ mental health and expressed hope that this helpline will address their concerns.

This service will operate daily from 15:00 to 21:00, except Fridays. It will be staffed by specially trained school counsellors, with technical assistance from the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC).

This marks the first helpline in the Maldives dedicated to mental health support for the educational community.
