MET Office Issues White Alert And Yellow Alert For Northern Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert from HA. Atoll to B. Atoll and a yellow alert Sh. atoll to Lh. Atoll.


HA. Atoll to B. Atoll alert is effective from 10:00 hrs and lasting until 14:00 hrs, today and Sh. atoll to Lh. Atoll alert is effective from 10:30 hrs and lasting until 14:00 hrs, today.

The MMS advises residents and visitors in the affected areas to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
