MET Office Issues White Alert for Multiple Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for several regions, spanning from Kaafu Atoll to Meemu Atoll and from Haa Dhaalu Atoll to Shaviyani Atoll. 

This alert is in effect from 15:30 hrs until 20:00 hrs, today.

Residents and visitors in these areas are advised to take precautions as heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected during this period. 

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
