MET Office Issues White Alert from Baa to Vaavu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for the region spanning from Baa to Vaavu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 12:30 hours to 17:30 hours, today. The forecast warns strong winds  are expected.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
