MET Office Issues White Alert from Haa Alifu to Thaa

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for the region spanning from Haa Alifu Atoll to Thaa Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 6:30 hours to 12:30 hours, today. The forecast warns of heavy rains and thunderstorms, with gusts of 35mph within the affected region.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
