MET Office Issues White Alert from Meemu Atoll to Laamu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert for the region spanning from Meemu Atoll to Laamu Atoll, effective from 08:00 hours until 13:00 hours, today.

The alert signifies the likelihood of heavy rain and thunderstorms during this period.

Residents and visitors to these areas are advised to exercise caution and precautionary measures should be taken to ensure safety in the event of adverse weather conditions.


MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
