MET Office Issues White Alert from Shaviyani to Meemu

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for the region spanning from Shaviyani Atoll to Meemu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 8:00 hours to 14:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of strong winds and rough seas, with gusts of upto 24mph within the affected region.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
