MET Office Issues White Alert to Southern Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert  from Gaafu Alif Atoll to Addu City, warning residents and authorities of the likelihood of heavy rain and thunderstorms. 

The alert is in effect from today, starting at 08:45 hrs and lasting until 14:45 hrs on the same day.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms can pose various hazards, including localized flooding, strong winds, and potential disruptions to transportation and utilities.

During the specified period, residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
