MET Office Issues Yellow Alert For Central Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a Yellow Alert today spanning from Kaafu Atoll to Faafu Atoll.

From 07:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Residents of Kaafu and Faafu Atolls are to expect torrential rain, thunderstorms, rough seas and winds reaching upto 45 MPH.

During the specified periods, residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

White alert: Alert Level 1

Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2

Orange warning: Alert Level 3

Red warning: Alert Level 4
