Byheart Whole Nutrition infant formula was discovered to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, the MFDA confirmed.
The formula was removed from the market, following guidelines from the World Health Organization’s International Food Safety Authorities Network.
The bacterium can cause botulism, a serious disease, prompting the authority to prohibit the import and sale of all batches of the brand in Maldives as a precautionary measure.
