A key point of the meeting included increasing the number of livestock, such as goats and chickens, at MIFCO’s Felivaru and Kooddoo locations. Additionally, the practical aspects of expanding agriculture at the Funaddoo site were thoroughly deliberated, including the provision of technical farming training for MIFCO employees.

MIFCO reported that ministry officials pledged their full support for the expansion efforts. This commitment includes assistance in addressing issues related to tree and livestock diseases, as well as other challenges that might arise at MIFCO’s farmlands. Discussions also covered the possibility of the ministry offering technical expertise to aid MIFCO in its agricultural ventures.

The company noted that their existing agricultural practices have helped reduce food costs for employees stationed at these sites. MIFCO also generates revenue by selling livestock, such as goats and chickens, as part of its efforts to manage operational expenses.
