MIFCO Children’s Evening to Celebrate Fishermen’s Day

In commemoration of Fishermen’s Day, a special children’s evening titled “MIFCO Children’s Evening” is set to take place tomorrow. Aimed at providing insight into fisheries and the industry, the event is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Fisheries and MIFCO, with Urbanco serving as the hosting partner.

Scheduled for 8 December 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, the event promises to offer an engaging and educational experience for children at Central Park. The two-hour program will feature various activities designed to captivate young minds.
Attendees will have the opportunity to gain an introduction to Maldivian fisheries, with displays showcasing fishing-related offerings. Notable attractions include demonstrations of fish cutting skills, the preparation of Maldivian dishes from fish, and exhibits of diverse fish products.
In addition to these informative segments, the children’s evening will feature drawing competitions and the ‘Fasmeeru Young Chef’ competition. The Ministry highlights the inclusive nature of the event, emphasising that children of different ages and those with disabilities are encouraged to participate in the sports activities arranged during the evening.
The MIFCO Children’s Evening is expected to not only celebrate Fishermen’s Day but also foster awareness and interest in the vibrant world of fisheries among the younger generation.
