Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO) has held discussions with the Embassy of the Maldives in Japan to seek support in engaging Japanese companies for initiatives related to value-added fisheries products and the development of a mariculture industry.

The discussions took place during a high-level delegation visit by MIFCO to Tokyo. The meeting focused on expanding the company’s trade opportunities and exploring ways to increase the participation of Japanese companies in MIFCO’s operations in international markets.

Both sides discussed the potential role of the Maldivian Embassy in Japan in supporting efforts to expand MIFCO’s presence in the Japanese market, enhance the value of its fisheries products and encourage collaboration with Japanese companies in developing a mariculture industry.

Deputy Ambassador Ahmed Adil and Second Secretary Hawwa Samha took part in the meeting and affirmed the embassy’s cooperation in supporting these initiatives.

MIFCO continues to promote its products in markets around the world and regularly participates in international trade fairs to showcase and market Maldivian fisheries products.
