Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Visits the Maldives

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hayashi Yoshimasa has arrived in the Maldives last night, on an Official Visit at the invitation of Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives.

During the visit, Minister Shahid and Minister Hayashi will hold bilateral consultations on strengthening Maldives-Japan diplomatic ties. Minister Hayashi will also call on the Minister of Defence, Uza. Mariya Ahmed Didi during this visit.
Both Minister Hayashi and Minister Shahid will witness the Exchange of Notes between the Government of Maldives and the Government of Japan for the exemption of visa requirements for Diplomatic and Official passports for a period of 90 days and the Exchange of Notes under the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship [JDS] between Maldives and Japan. He will also attend a Joint Handover Ceremony of a Fireboat and ICT Equipment for the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Minister Hayashi will visit Kalaafaanu School which was built under the generous aid of the Government of Japan and to Seawall Tetrapod Monument, which is a token of friendship and cooperation between Maldives and Japan.
Minister Hayashi was received at the Velana International Airport by Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives.
