Minister Shareef Addresses Local Council Concerns, Pledges Public Service Enhancement

Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef, has expressed commitment to addressing the concerns raised by local councils. Speaking at a strategic deliberation meeting between the Thulusdhoo Island Council and the Local Government Authority (LGA), Shareef emphasised the government’s ambition of efficiently managing public services for easy citizen access.
Highlighting the need to empower local councils, Minister Shareef pledged to convey their concerns to the Cabinet and work towards viable solutions. He underscored the government’s dedication to enhancing citizen engagement and crafting policies that render council-managed services more attractive.
Minister Shareef emphasised the government’s priority in fortifying council management and enhancing the public service sector. Encouraging councils to serve as role models, he urged them to share insights for collective improvement among councils.
