The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development has published the provisional list of awardees for the student loan scheme, offered to individuals pursuing higher education or training either locally or abroad.
The ministry has advised that any complaints regarding the published results must be submitted before 1:00 PM on 3 August 2025. Submissions should be sent via email to loan.complaints@mohe.gov.mv.
Earlier, in a gazetted announcement issued on 29 March, the ministry opened 500 loan opportunities for individuals seeking to study overseas, ranging from diploma-level programmes to PhD studies.

In the published awardee list, the ministry has clearly stated the reasons for disqualification where applicable. Common issues include submission of incorrect or incomplete documentation, and applications submitted under ineligible or invalid categories.
For instance, some applicants were disqualified for applying under offers reserved exclusively for students already benefiting from the First Degree Scholarship, which provides additional assistance for expenses not covered by the scholarship. Applications under such conditions were deemed ineligible and marked as disqualified.
The ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and has encouraged all applicants to review their results carefully and raise valid concerns within the designated period.
