Ministry Attended to 96 Cases of Violence Against Children in August

Statistics released by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services reveal that the Ministry received and attended to a total of 96 cases of violence against children in the month of August, which included 59 girls and 37 boys.

This is a slight increase compared to the month of July, which saw a total of 92 cases, which included 55 girls and 37 boys.

In August, the most commonly reported form of child abuse was negligence as usual, with 25 cases documented during the month. 

Additionally, there were 22 cases of witness to domestic violence, 18 cases of sexual abuse, 13 cases of physical abuse, 12 cases of emotional abuse, one case of victim to harassment, two cases of victim to bullying, one case of cyberbullying, one case of blackmail and one case of others.

In August 2023, the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services received a total of 254 reported cases concerning various issues related to child welfare and family well-being.
