Director General of the Climate Change Department, Amjad Abdulla, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the Ministry’s extensive efforts over the past year in developing the plan through broad stakeholder engagement. He emphasised the need for a whole-of-society approach and underscored the critical role of international support in securing financing, technology, and capacity building for effective implementation.

Participants engaged in technical presentations by the Climate Change Department, which detailed the development process of the plan and adaptation strategies across key sectors such as agriculture, water security, infrastructure resilience, coastal protection, public health, biodiversity, tourism, and disaster risk management. Presentations also addressed cross-cutting areas essential for successful implementation.

A question-and-answer session allowed stakeholders to provide feedback and comments on the plan, followed by closing remarks from Mr. Amjad. He reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration among stakeholders and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the international community to achieve the plan’s objectives.
