MV+ News Desk | December 11, 2025

The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has launched a system for the public to report calls originating from prisons.

Members of the public who suspect they have received such calls are urged to report them through the oneGov.mv platform.

The service allows individuals to report suspicious or fraudulent phone calls, messages, or malicious links believed to be linked to detention or custodial facilities under the Maldives Correctional Service. Submitted reports will be reviewed and, once verified, shared with relevant authorities for investigation and appropriate action.

Those reporting incidents may provide supporting documents such as screenshots, photos of malicious links, or audio recordings of the call, though these are optional.

To submit a report, users should search for the Report Scam Calls and Messages service on oneGov, select Report a New Complaint, complete the form, and attach any relevant evidence. Applicants will receive notifications via email and SMS, and can track their submission under My Applications.

The ministry said completed reports are processed within three working days.
