Gov’t Holds Key Meeting with Pakistan High Commission

The Ministry of Social and Family Development held a meeting with Zulqurnain Ahmad, Deputy Head of the Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives. 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Social and Family Development Aiminath Namza and Programme Officer Aishath Saha Sobah.

Key discussions included opportunities for talented children with disabilities from SAARC countries to participate in art and design programs at Beaconhouse University in Lahore, Pakistan. Additionally, the potential for Pakistani technical experts to train therapists and analysts in behavioural therapy for persons with disabilities was explored.

The meeting also reviewed the “Household Connection” campaign, conducted in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in Maldives, and discussed new plans to continue with the IBAMA project. The “Household Connection” campaign, launched in 2022, aims to combat domestic violence, protect victims, and raise awareness about domestic violence in society. The work with Ibama groups focuses on strengthening social welfare initiatives sustainably.

Deputy Minister Aiminath Namza described the meeting as a very successful discussion, highlighting the start of important and sustainable collaborative work with the Pakistan High Commission in the near future.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to the Pakistan High Commission for its cooperation and assistance in various activities related to social and family development.
