The survey, which began at Velana International Airport and will continue until 15 December, is designed to gather both demographic information and qualitative feedback on travellers’ experiences with local tourism products and services.
It is stated that the findings will play a key role in shaping evidence-based policy. By analysing visitor responses, the ministry intends to refine tourism strategies and strengthen the Maldives’ competitive position, ensuring its continued prominence as a leading global destination.
The survey is being conducted amid a period of record growth in arrivals. Administrative data indicate that the Maldives currently welcomes an average of more than 6,000 visitors each day. As of 29 November, cumulative arrivals for the year had reached 2,014,358, surpassing the two‑million mark and representing a 10 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
