Ministry Opens International Tender for Tourist Hotel Development on Baarah
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has opened an international tender for the development and operation of a tourist hotel on Baarah in Haa Alifu Atoll.
The project forms part of a broader government strategy to promote eco-tourism and stimulate economic growth across the outer atolls. The designated development area on Baarah covers 71,832 square feet.
To support the tender process, the ministry has scheduled a virtual information session for Tuesday, 8 July, at 10 a.m. Interested parties are required to register by submitting their name, email address, and telephone number to the ministry’s designated email by 12 p.m. on Monday, 7 July.
Bid documents will be available from Sunday, 29 June, to Tuesday, 19 August. These can be collected in person on working days between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the ministry’s reception, or requested via email. Completed submissions are due by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 20 August, and must be delivered in person to the ministry’s headquarters.
