The Ministry of Social and Family Development has announced its official motto for this year’s Children’s Day: “Happy times, Happy relationships, Happy childrens”

The Ministry stated that the slogan highlights two key elements essential to a child’s well-being: the quality time parents spend with their children and the strength of the relationship between them. According to the Ministry, these are central to ensuring children grow up with happiness, confidence and resilience.

The concept of ‘happy time’ refers to the moments parents dedicate solely to their children through activities such as play, conversation and reading. These experiences are said to offer children love, care and attention, which contribute not only to their emotional security but also to the development of their personalities.

The second element, ‘happy relationship’, emphasises the importance of a strong, loving bond between parent and child, and between parents. The Ministry noted that such relationships help children feel supported and understood, making it easier for them to express their feelings and navigate challenges. A positive family dynamic also enables parents to better recognise and meet their children’s emotional and developmental needs.

The Ministry stressed that these two components, quality time and nurturing relationships, together lead to ‘happy children’, who are more likely to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Such children, it said, tend to have a positive outlook on life and are better equipped with the skills needed to lead fulfilling lives.

In introducing the slogan, the Ministry reinforced that children’s well-being depends not only on material support but, more importantly, on emotional connection and consistent care.
