Commencing at 6 am and concluding at noon, the event saw a concerted effort to rid the city of litter and debris.

The launch ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Minister of Language, Culture, and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim, along with ministry officials and employees, and representatives from participating institutions. Minister Ibrahim emphasized the intrinsic link between cleanliness and cultural values, expressing gratitude to all involved entities for their contributions to the initiative.

Addressing the attendees, Sheikh Abbas underscored the significance of cleanliness in Islam, aligning with the overarching goal of the campaign to promote hygiene and responsible waste disposal practices.

Furthermore, the Ministry is championing the “Roadha Saaf” campaign to foster good hygiene practices and promote responsible waste management. This year’s initiative saw widespread participation from island councils, indicating a growing momentum towards community-led cleanliness drives.

The “Ramadan Clean” campaign is slated to become a recurring feature during the holy month, according to the ministry.
