MMA Launches Educational Lecture Series on Economy and Finance

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has initiated a new lecture series designed to educate students in the atolls about the nation’s economy and financial sectors. 

The first session was held at the Fuvahmulah Atoll Education Centre, drawing an engaged audience of students.

Governor Ali Hashim participated in the inaugural session, sharing his experiences and addressing questions from students. The lectures focused on the Maldives’ economic and financial landscape, emphasising financial literacy and the importance of saving.

This initiative represents an expansion of the MMA’s ongoing efforts to foster financial awareness among school-aged children. 

The decision to bring sessions directly to schools in the atolls demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to reaching students throughout the country. The lecture series is scheduled to continue across different provinces in the Maldives.
