MMPRC Announces Public Voting Event to Support the Maldives’ WTA Nominations

The Maldives is vying for recognition on the global stage, competing in nine prestigious categories at the World Travel Awards (WTA) in the Indian Ocean region. To rally public support, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, is orchestrating a special Voting Event.
Scheduled to take place at Velaanaage ground floor on the 28th of March 2024, from 9:15 AM to 1:15 PM, the event aims to engage the local community and travel enthusiasts in bolstering the Maldives’ nominations for the esteemed WTA.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, is widely regarded as the highest recognition in the travel and tourism industry. Its annual ceremonies celebrate excellence across various sectors, setting benchmarks for hospitality standards worldwide. Winning a WTA award not only signifies global acclaim but also enhances a destination’s appeal to tourists and investors.
Over the years, the Maldives has consistently clinched numerous coveted titles in the Indian Ocean category, including Leading Destination, Leading Beach Destination, and Leading Tourist Board.
The Voting Event at Velaanaage ground floor promises a raffle draw sponsored by ITAW Travels, courtesy of the National Guesthouses Association of the Maldives.
