MMPRC Launches Landmark Design Competition, Winner to Receive MVR 20K
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has unveiled a landmark design competition exclusively for Maldivians. The selected landmarks will be displayed at prominent locations, including Velana International Airport, Malé, underwater sites, and on various islands across the nation.
MMPRC stated that the competition aims to celebrate Maldivian creativity, highlight the country’s natural beauty, and showcase the diverse experiences offered through tourism. Maldivian citizens aged 18 and over are invited to submit designs reflecting the unique heritage, culture, and natural splendour of the Maldives.

The top ten designs will be chosen through a combined evaluation of public votes and expert panel review. The winning design will receive a prize of MVR 20,000 and a sponsor’s gift pack, with all top ten designs credited and featured in MMPRC’s marketing campaigns.
Submissions must propose landmarks constructed to a height of 20 feet using renewable materials, and the judging criteria will focus on creativity, safety, visual appeal, and durability.
Applications, including the design in CAD and PDF format with specified dimensions, an optional visual representation, a completed application form, and a copy of a valid ID card, should be submitted via email to contest@visitmaldives.com by 30 November. Each participant is allowed to submit one design.
