MNDF Completes Explosive Ordinance Disposal Course

Officers from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) have successfully concluded a joint military training programme titled the “Basic Explosive Ordnance Disposal Course 3” (Level 2).
Held at the MNDF Southern Area Command from 24th March to 11th May, the course saw the graduation of 27 officers. Among the graduates, Lance Corporal Mohamed Shavin secured the top position, followed by Private Fathimath Shahudha Aboobakuru in second place, and Staff Sergeant Mohamed Rafeeq in third.
A ceremony was organised at the MNDF Southern Area Command headquarters to mark the occasion, where graduates were presented with their “EOD badges.” The certificates were awarded by Sri Lankan army engineer instructors, the course office, and Lieutenant Haathim Ahmed.
The EOD Level 2 Course aims to impart knowledge in conventional munitions disposal, explosive ordnance disposal, hazardous materials disposal, and search techniques. Throughout the duration of the course, participants covered various topics including explosives, demolition, booby traps, arms and ammunition, Improved Explosive Device (IED) disposal, explosive ordnance disposal, search techniques, and mine warfare.
