MNDF Issues Alert After Diving Boat Sinks Near Rasdhoo

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has issued an alert urging seafarers to exercise caution following the sinking of a diving boat off AA. Rasdhoo.

According to the MNDF, the vessel named Scuba sank 12 nautical miles east of Alihuras Sea, the channel situated between Vaavu and Meemu Atolls, while en route to Rasdhoo. The authority did not disclose when the incident occurred or whether there were any injuries.

The MNDF reported that debris from the vessel has been sighted drifting east of Rasdhoo and advised all seafarers travelling in the area, particularly those navigating at night, to remain alert.

The incident took place amid adverse weather conditions across the Maldives, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and rough seas affecting several regions.
