The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has issued a cautionary advisory to seafarers, urging them to remain vigilant regarding the weather conditions.

This advisory comes in light of the National Meteorological Department’s issuance of a yellow alert, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the upcoming three days.
In line with this advisory, the MNDF Coast Guard has advised against unnecessary sea travel, urging individuals to refrain from embarking on voyages unless absolutely necessary. Those who must undertake sea journeys are strongly encouraged to closely monitor weather updates throughout their travels.
Additionally, the Coast Guard has recommended avoiding travel during nighttime and considering postponement of journeys until weather conditions improve, provided it is safe to do so.
This advisory underscores the importance of prioritising safety and exercising caution amidst potentially adverse weather conditions, with the aim of ensuring the well-being of all seafarers and passengers.
