Statistics from the Maldives Police Service show that 119 motorbikes were reported stolen from Malé in October.

In Malé City, a total of 119 motorcycles were reported lost during October 2025. Of these, 110 have been successfully recovered, while 9 remain missing.

The stolen vehicles included popular models such as the Honda Wave, Honda PCX, Honda Air Blade, and Yamaha NMAX. Of the total reported cases, 110 motorbikes were recovered, reflecting a recovery rate of 92.4 percent. Police estimated the total value of the stolen and recovered vehicles at around MVR 4 million, based on average market prices.
In comparison, 109 stolen motorbikes worth approximately MVR 6 million were recovered in September.
Police have noted a continued rise in motorbike thefts and have urged the public to take extra precautions to safeguard their vehicles. The advice includes removing the key after parking, using the magnetic shutter lock, and choosing well-lit and visible areas for parking.
