Former Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Member of Parliament Moosa Siraj and L. Atoll Council President Ismail Ali have officially aligned themselves with the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

This announcement came to light during a rally hosted by the PPM-PNC coalition in Hadhunmathi Fonadhoo, which took place yesterday.

The joining of Moosa Siraj and Ismail Ali into the PPM ranks was marked by the submission of their membership forms to PNC figures, namely PNC Presidential Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and PNC President Abdul Raheem Abdullah.

Siraj’s notable support for the PNC presidential candidate during the initial round of the presidential election preceded his departure from the MDP on August 21 of the preceding year.

Ismail Ali’s decision to align with the PPM has been attributed to a perceived lack of development in his atoll under the MDP’s leadership.

Additionally, the rally witnessed an influx of youth participants from various L. Atoll islands into the PPM.

As these political developments continue to unfold, their impact on local and national politics remains a topic of keen observation and speculation. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
