MPL Reduces Container Charges for Regional Ports

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced a 25 per cent cut in fees associated with containers destined for its regional ports.

The revised rates will affect charges including wharfage, handling, stevedoring, as well as the empty unloading and handling of containers.

The containers in question hail from both Male’ Commercial Harbour and Hulhumale’ International Terminal. MPL suggests that this reduction will pave the way for traders to potentially decrease the prices of goods, given the lower transportation costs.
