MPS Arrest Man on Thilafushi Island with Over 100 Liquor Bottles

A man was apprehended by Maldives Police Service (MPS) on K. Thilafushi, an industrial island adjacent to Male’, after being found in possession of a significant quantity of liquor. 

The arrest was the outcome of a policing operation conducted by Thilafushi Police yesterday, which was prompted by information regarding the alleged possession and sale of alcohol by migrant workers on the island.

The individual in custody has been identified as a 36-year-old male migrant worker. Prior to his apprehension, law enforcement officers conducted a search of cardboard boxes within his possession. 

The search led to the discovery of three liquor bottles, along with an additional 107 bottles, each containing 500 milliliters of alcohol. The case is currently the subject of an ongoing investigation by the police.
