MRC Raises Over MVR 70K for Morocco Relief Fund

The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) has collected MVR 70,931.64 in donations towards the Morocco Relief Fund, offering unwavering support for the earthquake-stricken region. 

This initiative comes as a response to the Emergency Appeal issued by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to aid the earthquake-affected communities in Morocco.

The Morocco Relief Fund was officially launched by the MRC on 14th September 2023. Its primary objective was to contribute to the ongoing response and recovery efforts in Morocco following the devastating earthquake. 

The relief fund remained open for contributions from the public and well-wishers from 14th to 21st September 2023, accumulating a substantial total in just seven days.

The generous donations received through the Morocco Relief Fund will play a crucial role in supporting the IFRC’s CHF 100 million Emergency appeal, which aims to provide essential humanitarian assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Morocco.
