Muizzu Aims to Accelerate and Complete VIA by Next September

Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the President-elect, stresses the importance of completing the Velana International Airport to stimulate the Maldivian economy, aiming to finish by next September.
As per the transitional committees’ findings, the current schedule anticipates the work’s completion by July 2025, as stated by Dr. Muizzu.

At the meeting last night, attended by several prominent businessmen and representatives from the construction industry and PPP-PNC officials, the President-elect was apprised of the challenges faced by these entities.
Muizzu also assured them of government support and pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders to facilitate the accelerated progression of the airport project.
