Muizzu Appoints Members to Top Government Positions

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu appointed members to top government positions in a ceremony held at the President’s Office last evening, where the letters of appointment were presented.

The Minister-level appointments and recipients of letters of appointment are as follows:

1. Minister at the Presidential Palace – Iqbal Adam

2. Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Mohamed Hussain Shareef

The appointments to the University governance board include:

1. Chancellor at the Maldives National University (MNU) – Dr Mahmood Shaugy

2. Vice Chancellor at the Maldives National University (MNU) – Dr Aishath Shehenaz Adam

3. Vice Chancellor at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) – Dr Ali Zahir

The appointments made at the State Minister-level are:

1. Chief of Staff at the Vice President’s Residence – Mohamed Waheed Hassan

2. Head of the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) , Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology – Dr Mohamed Kinaanath

3. Controller General of Immigration – Mohamed Sham’aan Waheed
