Muizzu Emphasises Significance of Regional Cooperation and Peace in South Asia

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu stressed the importance of reflecting on the principles and values of regional cooperation, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in South Asia, on the occasion of the 39th SAARC Charter Day.
He also stated that the SAARC has been crucial in addressing regional challenges and advancing shared goals.

Muizzu sent the message to the Secretary-General, the Secretariat, and all institutions affiliated with the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the people of the South Asian region.
The SAARC Charter Day is celebrated every year on December 8.
Muizzu additionally called upon renewed commitment to the principles of the Charter and increased cooperation in developing a more interconnected and resilient South Asia.
