Muizzu Expresses Deep Condolences Over Death of Iran’s President Raisi
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended his condolences following the untimely death of President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi of Iran, who tragically perished in a helicopter crash, yesterday.
In his message, President Muizzu stated, “I am deeply saddened by the untimely death of President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi of Iran in the tragic helicopter crash. I pray to Almighty Allah to bless the souls of President Raisi, Foreign Minister Abdollahian, and others who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident and to grant them Jannatul Firdaus. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and people of Iran at this time of profound grief.”

The incident occurred amid poor weather conditions yesterday, as a helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage was involved in an accident.
The crash took place in the mountainous forest area of Dizmar, near the town of Varzaghan, as reported by the official IRNA news agency.
President Raisi, 63, was in the region for an official visit, where he inaugurated a dam project in collaboration with Azeri President Ilham Aliev on the border between the two countries.
The presidential convoy included three helicopters, with the other two reportedly reaching their destination safely, according to Tasnim news agency. The search for survivors continues as authorities investigate the cause of the crash.
