During his visit, Muizzu attended Prime Minister Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. The suspension of the ministers and subsequent statements from the Maldivian Foreign Ministry disavowing the comments signify a desire to mend diplomatic ties.

Muizzu’s visit to India and Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer’s recent trip to Delhi indicate a concerted effort to strengthen bilateral relations and foster cooperation between Maldives and India.
