Muizzu Joins Door-to-Door Campaign in Male’ City

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has joined the door-to-door campaigning in Male’ City, aiming to garner support for the ruling PPM-PNC party ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The campaign, set to continue until April 8, sees the President visiting households between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm on all days except Thursdays and Fridays. On the first day of the campaign, Muizzu engaged with residents in the West Henveiru district of Male’, covering areas including Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Sosun Magu, Abadhah Ufaa Magu, and Roashanee Magu.

This local outreach initiative follows a nationwide tour conducted by Muizzu in anticipation of Ramadan, during which he held discussions with representatives from more than 150 councils across the Maldives.

The parliamentary elections, slated for April 21, will see a total of 389 candidates vying for 93 parliamentary seats. The main opposition party, MDP, leads with candidates contesting 90 seats, closely followed by the main ruling coalition, PPM-PNC, competing for 89 seats. 

Additionally, 130 independent candidates are in the running, alongside representatives from smaller parties such as the Democrats, Jumhoory Party (JP), Adhaalath Party, and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).
