Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the People’s National Congress (PNC) presidential candidate, has announced his intent to implement a special allowance tailored for children diagnosed with Thalassemia.
Speaking during a campaign rally held in R. Dhuvaafaru yesterday, Dr. Muizzu emphasised his party’s commitment to both economic growth and the promotion of a healthier society.
He underscored his dedication to addressing the needs of individuals requiring state aid and pledged to establish a specific allowance aimed at assisting children with Thalassemia.
Muizzu highlighted the potential benefits of this allowance, noting its capacity to alleviate some of the challenges faced by Thalassemia-affected children and their families. Earlier, during a campaign event in HA. Utheemu, he had previously promised to facilitate state-sponsored bone marrow transplants for children affected by Thalassemia.
Additionally, Dr. Muizzu outlined a broader support framework. He expressed his commitment to granting an allowance of MVR 3,000 to every child below the age of 18, designed particularly to aid single mothers.
