Muizzu Seeks UAE Support for Maldives’ Progress and Strengthened Bilateral Ties

President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called upon the UAE Government and business community to extend their support and active involvement in the country’s progress, in a meeting with the UAE Ambassador, yesterday.

This appeal was made during a meeting held at the President-elect’s office with the UAE Ambassador to the Maldives, Sheikh Rahma Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Rahma Al Shamsi and Vice President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
During their discussions, Muizzu conveyed his aspirations to elevate the bilateral relations between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to new heights during his tenure.
He also highlighted the importance of Maldives enhancing ties among Arab Islamic nations.
Muizzu expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s continued assistance to the Maldives, particularly in providing facilities for Maldivian tourists and businessmen.
He further emphasised the significance of UAE Government support and the active participation of UAE-based entrepreneurs and investors in fulfilling his pledges and contributing to the Maldives’ development.
The UAE Ambassador, in turn, engaged in deliberations regarding the prospects of fortifying the close relationship between the Maldives and the UAE. He reassured his commitment to offer assistance and cooperation across various sectors to facilitate the development of the Maldives.
