Muizzu Sets Bodufinolhu as Part of Laamu Atoll Gan

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu officially designated Bodufinolhu Island as part of Gan Island, in Laamu Atoll yesterday.

This change was implemented through amendments to the Presidential Decree, made under Section 56-1, Subsection (a) of the Decentralisation Act (Act No. 07/2010), which grants the President the authority to designate areas for both City and Island Councils.

According to the President’s Office, the newly established chart of Gan Island has now been codified and published in the Government Gazette.
